The Tualatin Valley Chapter is one of about 400 chapters making up the national organization of TROUT Unlimited. Having more than 140,000 volunteers
organized into those chapters from Maine to Montana to Alaska. This
dedicated grassroots army is matched by a respected staff of lawyers,
policy experts and scientists, who work out of more than 30 offices
nationwide. These conservation professionals ensure that TU is at the
forefront of fisheries restoration work at the local, state and national
levels.
TU's Mission
To bring together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.
TU's Vision
Our vision is for communities across America to engage in the work of repairing and renewing the rivers, streams, and other waters on which we all depend.
TVTU's Role:
Our Chapter is based in
Portland, Oregon but its geographic area also encompasses a number of
watersheds on the north Oregon coast.
Recent years have seen an increase in chapter activity on coastal rivers
and streams, with heightened public awareness of the chapter’s involvement
(often in conjunction with other local groups), and an increasing array of conservation
opportunities as a result. The chapter
intends to continue its efforts to take advantage of these opportunities by
focused application of TU’s mantra of “Protect,
Reconnect, Restore and Sustain.”
