That's right - MEETINGS HAVE RETURNED! We're starting slowly with a hybrid virtual meeting - you can join in person or virtually via zoom; your choice!

The Oregon Council of Trout Unlimited and TVTU invite you to a combined in-person and Zoom presentation outlining TU’s campaign to remove the four lower Snake River dams. This is an opportunity to hear the reasons this is being pursued, how TU is advocating for it and how you can help. This is a live program where you can ask questions and get answers. Eric Crawford is TU’s North Idaho Field Coordinator. He came to TU following a lengthy tenure with Idaho Fish and Game and an avid angler with a mean looking spey cast. He knows the Snake River basin, the issues and the science.

WHAT TO BRING: a few bucks for a beverage and dinner from the OMP menus; throw in a few raffle tickets and your best dinnertime conversation to share with others!

CAMPOUTING!
WHEN: April 22-25, 2022

WHERE: South Twin Lake; Gull Point Campground
WHAT TIME: whenever you can make it
WHAT to EXPECT: Annual trek over to the east side to meet and fish on the annual South Twin event. This has become one of the more popular outings and for good reason - come see why! Expect anything and everything and be prepared for adventure.

WHAT to BRING: about everything you need to camp for the weekend - including being prepared for potential colder temperatures and weather - it happens in spring in Oregon!

Member Meetings - UPDATE!

 

We recognize everyone wants to get out and about again - the TVTU Board does as well! With things looking up, the Board has decided to try and start meetings again in APRIL! Along with that plan, the Board voted to CHANGE MEETING LOCATIONS - we did this due to concerns and input for lack of access to the second level of our prior meeting location.

After some great suggestions and significant investigation by various Board members - we have also voted to give the OLD MARKET PUB a try as our new meeting location! OMP is in Garden Home - about 2.0 miles west from the Lucky Lab Public House in Multnomah Village. Hit Multnomah Blvd and head directly west to our new spot.

Meeting schedule remains second Wednesday each month [except July and August]; start to gather at 6:30 and the formal meeting will start at 7:00 pm. Just like our former venue, we have a dedicated staff member serving our needs in the meeting room where you can order from the FOOD and BEVERAGE MENUS. A bonus for us, all monies spent on food/drinks will be discounted against our monthly room rental fee - dollar for dollar!

C4C - done for 21/22!!

 

Thanks again to all the volunteers and all those who brought trees to be ecocycled into fish habitat! We had another successful year on this restart for the project - lots of interested folks who were pleased to be providing repurposed Christmas trees for fish habitat!

Thanks Again and look for us again in January 2023!

C4C - one weekend to go!

 

First weekend went very well - over 300 trees collected - thanks to all the volunteers as well as the public who helped out; LOTS of future fish habitat was collected and stockpiled! Can't wait until spring to place these:

We are excited to have the newest volunteers voted to the Tualatin Valley Chapter Board of Directors! Thank you so much to members David Cook, Brett Dunnam, Matt Erickson, Mark Poulin, and Kim Swartz for joining the ranks of dedicated volunteers ensuring the future of Clean, Cold, Fishable Waters!

We look forward to working with them in the future!

November Member Meeting_VIRTUAL ANNUAL MEETING!

The Annual Meeting of Members of the Tualatin Valley Trout Unlimited Chapter will take place online in a Zoom meeting on November 10, 2021 starting at 6:30 pm.

The agenda will include:

• Board Elections
• Treasurer's Report on income, expenses, and cash-on-hand.
• President's Annual Report to members

Our organization is running an exciting ten-day garage sale starting on Friday. The catalog features over 100 items from the collections of expert anglers. Most of the gear is new or in excellent condition - and offered at a bargain. The sale presents an excellent opportunity for seasoned anglers to pick up new or rare items and for new anglers to build out their collections. All funds raised through the sale will help us continue our work on the lower Deschutes River.

The Deschutes River Alliance (DRA), an organization advocating for the health of the lower Deschutes River, is hosting a special ten-day garage sale to raise funds to continue their work. Curated by local expert anglers from their private collections, the sale’s catalog features over 100 items perfect for new and seasoned anglers.

There are some truly excellent deals to be found – rods, reels, bags, apparel, flies, tying gear and materials, and more. Much of the gear has been lightly used and plenty is brand new!

All items have been priced to sell quickly. New gear is priced to sell at 50% of retail or less. You won't find better deals anywhere that sells used equipment – and the proceeds will help DRA efforts!

September member Meeting! ***CHANGED***

 

Well, we tried! Look for information this weekend via the Troutline Newsletter but our return to in-person meetngs at the Lucky Lab Public House in Multnomah Village has been put-off...instead, we will feature Sarah Zwissler from the Salmon Super Highway via a zoom gathering - so grab a beverage of choice and keep that laptop running [for now!].

Using all of the information.... [we] will be cancelling the in-person chapter meeting and moving it to a virtual meeting.  I will work with Sarah to figure out what she will be needing to do the virtual meeting.  I will be sending out the newsletter on Saturday with the updated Chapter meeting information.  We can put an announcement on the website and our Facebook page about the change of the meeting....
