Redd Surveys - Salmonberry River: starting in April, the Steelhead Spawning surveys are taking place
again on the Salmonberry River - this will be the 20th year of surveying [that is a lot of potentially good data]!
If you are not familiar with the Salmonberry, it is a tributary of the Nehalem RIver and flows through mostly un-roaded country along the former - thanks to Mother Natures relentless power - Tillamook Bay Railroad right-of-way. This is a great opportunity to see the Salmonberry system and a lot of Steelhead. It is a walking survey and some of the terrain is difficult so be prepared. The task? Spot and count steelhead redds.
