Fancy
yourself a tyer? Mastered your whip finish and want to go public for a
good cause? Then clamp a few hooks in the vise and DONATE some of your
work to the Fly Fishing Arts and Conservations Society's [FFACS] annual PNW Fly Tyers Rendezvous! Your flies will be used in the SILENT AUCTION at the meet on November 9th at the JACKSON ARMORY.
The
proceeds from the event - and especially the silent auction - are
dispersed among various non-profit conservation organizations to help
fund their programs/effort. Organizations such as Casting for Recovery, Trout Unlimited [including our very own Tualatin Valley Chapter!], and the Washington County Fly Fishers Student Scholarships have been recipients of upwards of $1000 in the past - your efforts help fund these great causes.
They
will be looking for a minimum of 1 dozen flies from each tyer - no
maximum if you are a real production tyer! Any type, style, or size!
If you are interested in participating and getting flies on the table - the DEADLINE is NOVEMBER 2. Please contact Mike Gentry - TVTU President and FFACS Auction Coordinator for additional information and to let him know what may be coming!
Really feeling like helping out?
The
organization could use some assistance not only with your donating
flies but with setting up the venue on Friday November 8 [start around
NOON] and again at the end of the event - Saturday, November 9 for
take-down [4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.]. This will mostly involve shuffling
chairs and tables and posting banners or name placards. If you can help
at either one of these times [or BOTH!] contact JERRY LORANG - TVTU Board Member.
So as usual
YOUR TIME
will go a long way in furthering the cause!
Thank You for your help!
