Hold on to your hats - the July 4th festivities will be on us before the week is out....how did July come so quickly this year? The often heralded start to the dry season seems to already be in full swing - and we are again dry and looking to be more dry soon. We hope everyone survives the holiday
with fingers and toes intact - if you are still ambulatory, come check out what your Chapter is doing this month....
GENERAL MEETING!
WHEN: Wednesday, July 11, 2018
WHERE: Cook Park - Shelter #3 - Tigard, Oregon
WHAT TIME: 6:00 p.m.
WHAT to EXPECT: No speaker: it's TVTU Potluck Picnic time!
Well, there will be plenty of speaking going on as this is when we all informally gather and chat amongst ourselves while chowing....
on grilled burgers and hot dogs! Bring a spouse, friend, family member and a side-dish or dessert and join the fun. The Clackamas River Chapter and Stonefly Maidens will be joining us again too!
The silent auction fundraiser will be in full force and everyone should bring their best charitable attitude and a moderately full wallet! We hope to see you there!
CAMPOUTING!
WHEN: Saturday, July 13-15, 2018
WHERE: Gold Lake - Gold Lake Campground
WHAT TIME: whenever you can make it
WHAT to EXPECT: A semi-annual jaunt to the more southern valley area - just east of Eugene, Gold Lake is a nice little barbless and motor-less body of water - the best part - monster rainbow trout! A bonus? C&R only on the rainbows. Another bonus? Brook trout can be plentiful, feisty and fulfill all your trout cravings - there are no limits on the brook trout here and the state wants you to keep them all regardless of size. Mosquitoes have been known to carry off small children so keep yours tethered to the ground and get some bug dope...
DIRECTIONS: Go south toward Willamette Pass - before you get to Odell Lake, look for the acute left with a FS gate - FS-500. Take that left and head another couple of miles and it takes you by gravel road directly to the lake.
WHAT to BRING: a float tube, bug spray and a friend if you wish!
FOR FUN!
WHAT: Kids Fly Fishing Day
WHEN: Saturday, July 7, 2018
WHERE: Royal Treatment Fly Fishing World Headquarters
WHAT TIME: 10:00 am until 3:00 pm
WHAT to EXPECT: A day dedicated to the kids - fly tying, fly fishing, bugs, the famous bug boat, hot dogs and more! Bring a kid - yours or that one neighbor kid who is always longing to get out fishing and harassing you constantly about your trips!
