Lefty Kreh, one of the pre-eminent sport fishermen of his time, died on Wednesday at his home in Cockeysville, Maryland. He was 93.

Jason has spoken many time at our meetings and is a great teacher and story-teller; you'll probably recognize the name as he was a tech consultant and stand-in for THE movie.

There is still time to get in on the RTFF Introduction to Spey Casting Class - this 3-hour class is taught by the Royal Treatment crew of Corey Koff, Josh Linn and Nick Wheeler. It is a great way to get started casting two-handed rod.

Do you recall.....

Hopefully you remember that email from the Oregon Council where TU partnered with Columbia Sportswear and all members had access to the employee store for the month of October?

The effort is a now an annual fundraiser for TU of Oregon - a portion of all purchases by members is donated back to the Oregon Council to support state level activities including paid administrators/coordinators, state projects, project development and chapter development - all in Oregon. This gives TU great strength in Salem.....

FREE FISHING WEEKEND!
WHEN: February 17-18, 2018

WHERE: State of Oregon! Anywhere and everywhere that water is open to fishing/catching.

WHAT TIME: Legal Daylight Hours [unless some warmwater spots are open...]
WHAT to EXPECT: Fishing without tags or licenses is allowed for anywhere and anything that is open - all other rules remain in place - limits, species, closures etc. This is not quite free-for-all but it is a great chance to get someone the introduction everyone deserves. Including entire family units! Just follow the other rules - regulations are ONLINE.
ODFW has been authorized by the state to schedule for up to 8-free fishing events in a year in hopes that this will provide opportunity for clubs and individuals to introduce folks into outdoor activities that they may not generally be interested or be unable to afford.

WHAT TO BRING: a friend! This is a great opportunity to introduce someone on the "cheap". Enjoy!

Waters may be dropping early this month - but if it warms too much we're likely to get some melty and that emerald green that we all look for will begin to turn milky white....let's hope it doesn't stay that way!
