OUTING UPDATE!!! Take Note...

In an email from Andy -Man of Travel and Grill - a warning for the upcoming TIMOTHY LAKE trip [June 11-15]:

To all concerned in the world:

Found out from PGE today that the North Arm campground will be closed until (at least) July 1st.  Therefore, we will now be staying at the Gone Creek Campground starting June 11th, leaving on the 15th.  The campground has a good boat ramp, and we have reserved camp sites of #41 and #43.  Check in will be at 2 pm.  Each spot will hold six campers, extra parking will probably be at the boat ramp.  Gone Creek is the first campground you come to when approaching Timothy on the South end.

When you first approach Timothy Lake, you will see the Oak Fork day use area, that has a boat launch.  Continue past the turn off for the day use area and next you will see the Gone Creek Campground.  If you see the Hood View Campground, you've driven past Gone Creek.

The Oak Fork of the Clackamas river comes near there and it will be a shorter run to the north arm than from the other campgrounds in the area.

Fall River, Central Oregon

Next weekend you will find TVTU members on the Fall River! Fall River Campground will be the spot to stay and keep warm by the campfire with tales of tails! This small 12 site campground out of La Pine has been the TVTU home-away-from-home for the popular Fall River outing for a good number of years and is a nice spot to base camp - with open camping sites there is room to share as well.

Okay members! Here it is - the unique opportunity to 'kill two birds with one stone' so to speak.....and build that good fishing karma!! Enjoy an outing with other like minded TU folks from Clackamas River and Tualatin Valley Chapters AND get in your field time with a volunteer project all in one weekend! This is your advance warning......

UPCOMING - June 16 Outing

Barney Reservoir - Sunday May 16. This is a day trip to the local spot outside Yamhill so pile the tube or kayak into the car/truck and come join the Chapter for some time on the water - that's NEXT WEEKEND!

South Twin Lake outing

Well no official reports were received on this one but based on a quick discussion at the last Chapter Meeting, it sounds like 4 persons were present – 3 from the Clackamas River Chapter and our very own Mark Rogers from TVTU [a few of non-fishing wives also showed – so include yours for a camp trip next time!].

Lost Lake....FOUND!

Andy Andrews reports that he and 6 other TVTU members have found Lost Lake....and it has fish!

Lost Lake Outing - Sunday!

Don't forget - this Sunday [April 14] a one day outing to Lost Lake [Clatsop County] is scheduled. Try to make it if you can! First of the season and the weather appears decent - cool temps but some sun is in the cards....with a bit a light rain just to remind us we're in Oregon!
