February at TVTU?

GENERAL MEETING!
WHEN: Wednesday, February 8, 2017
WHERE: Lucky Lab Public House [Multnomah Village]
WHAT TIME: 6:30 p.m. [with 7:00 p.m. official program start]
WHAT to EXPECT: Dave Hughes-Tenkara: Unburdened

Dave was introduced to the sport of tenkara fishing many years ago, while courting his wife on beautiful streams in Japan. He was immediately taken by both the simplicity and effectiveness of the method. He fished tenkara for perhaps 20 years before the current fad hit the fan in the US. This presentation briefly unfolds the history of tenkara, describes the minimal equipment needed to go lightly out to a stream, and covers all that you need to know about what to do when you get there in order to catch trout, and have a lot of fun doing it. Includes notes on microfishing, with shorter and even more delicate rods. Based on a thorough tenkara chapter in Dave's book Trout from Small Streams, 2nd edition
WHAT to BRING: a friend and an unburdening desire!
