May at TVTU?

What is on tap for May you might be asking? We have you covered - but PLEASE just don't get distracted and forget Mother's Day....

The latest issue assembled by editor Jerry is on the internet - he did it remotely from South Twin Lake even!! Check out what is going on with YOUR chapter!

WHEN: May 4, 2016
WHERE: Tigard American Legion Hall [8635 SW Scoffins Road]
WHAT'S it COST: getting in is FREE - getting out...well that depends!
WHAT to EXPECT: The annual  fundraiser auction for WCFF; evening of fun with silent and oral auctions on fishing gear, accessories and non-fishing items alike. Proceeds help fund conservation and education programs but most notably their OSU Grad Student Scholarships to Fishery Sciences majors.

WCFF has donated over $27,500 in.....
the last eleven years.

WHERE: Lucky Lab Public House [Multnomah]
WHAT TIME: 6:30 p.m. Socializing; meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
WHAT to EXPECT: Hal Gordon - "Wyoming Cutthroat"
Hal will present angling for Wyoming cutthroat on the Yellowstone, Snake River, Bear River, Colorado River; all with the goal of learning about AND catching the "Wyoming Cutt slam". The Cutt Slam Program is a program designed to encourage anglers to learn more about Wyoming's cutthroat sub-species and develop more appreciation and support of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's cutthroat management program.
WHAT to BRING: appetites and friends welcome! Food and beverages are available for purchase - second floor banquet room. A little cash for the raffle?

WHAT: Salmonberry River Redd Surveying
WHERE: on the Salmonberry - CONTACT BELOW for more info
WHEN: April 17; May 1, May 15, & 29 for 2016
WHAT to EXPECT: In 1996, the Salmonberry was identified as the only river in Oregon with a healthy run of wild winter steelhead. And, despite massive damage from a 2007 storm that saw significant road failures and landslides, the river still produces some of the best runs of wild steelhead.
Volunteers from NW Steelheaders and Native Fish Society have been collecting steelhead spawning survey and temperature data from the Salmonberry River since 1993, complementing and expanding on ODFW's data that goes back to 1973. Without all the hours put in by dedicated volunteers, there would be a far less complete picture of abundance cycles, run timing, and fish distribution in the Salmonberry.
COST: just your time! This is NOT a TVTU function but our members have enjoyed participating in the past - contact Ian and tell him you're with TVTU and want to join the fun! If you would like to spend some fun and important time on the river contact Ian Fergusson [503.TwoEightEight.2025] or email Ian Fergusson.
